CMMC 2.0 Model
On November 4, 2021 the DoD announced the new CMMC 2.0 model. The model has three levels with practices aligned with NIST SP 800-171 and NIST SP 800-172.

Implementation of CMMC 2.0
CMMC 2.0 will be implemented with the rule making process starting after November 4, 2021 and lasting approximately 9-24 months. New effective and compliance dates will be established once rulemaking is complete.
